Spring Forward: 3 Tips to Adjust to Daylight Savings Time

Happy Monday and welcome to the first work day of daylight savings time!  Do you feel a little more tired than usual this morning?  Feel like that hour of change has thrown off your entire internal time clock?  No worries – we have some tips to help you manage your time better and get into the swing of springing the time forward!

1. Don’t skip out on your morning caffeine.  Whether you are an avid coffee drinker or black tea lover, remember to get your daily dosage of caffeine to help you get through today and the rest of the week.  Not only will it help you wake up, it will help you be alert during a time when your body is use to sleeping.  Also, 1 – 3 cups of coffee helps improve memory, spot grammar errors, and reduces the chances of depression.

2. Go to sleep a little earlier.  For the rest of the work week, try to get to bed a little earlier than you usually do, even if it is only 30 minutes!  This will help your body adapt to waking up a little earlier.

3. Exercise in the morning.  Do some morning Yoga or running will help your body and psyche adjust to the time change and will help you have a more relaxed and productive day.  Even 20 – 30 minutes will wake you up and give you the boost you need to work all day!
